Joy - a friend of mine and my family - is on her way home to New Mexico after a few days' visit here in the Springs. We all so enjoyed her company and I really appreciated our conversations, whether serious (church dynamics, relationships, etc.) or silly (Doctor Who, playing pretend). I'm going to miss her but am glad to have had these last few days with her here!
In other news, my family and I have found out we get to take care of my little cousin for about another month - yay! Also in other OTHER news, Mom is having another section of skin removed tomorrow to check for cancer; this time from her back. Praying this will heal as well as the area near her shoulder has seemed to, and that sleeping will not be nearly so challenging as we anticipate.
Tonight I watched bits and pieces of the Superbowl with Jon, Dad, and whomever else was in the living room while I was. It's strange what was going on last year at this time... Well, for one thing, I never ever would have anticipated enjoying watching football! I'm glad Jon doesn't mind explaining things to me when I ask. Understanding football in general sure has helped me get a bit further past the "I'd much rather watch golf or speed walking than this" mentality. ;) I'm getting there....
